Cooky Mays

Description

Cooky Mays, CFRE, is a Senior Partner at the Niles partners and has an extensive background in capital projects, fundraising and non-profit management. Cooky’s experience includes temporary senior leadership roles at Boys and Girls Harbor as well as senior development officer, the Alzheimer’s Association for Houston and Southeast Texas, and Spring Branch Independent School District.

Cooky is Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Houston Chapter and chaired the chapter’s National Philanthropy Day. She received her professional fundraising certification, CFRE, in 2000 through AFP and has been a senior professional mentor for new development professionals. She has also done pro bono work for many are nonprofits.

Ms. Mays has been active in her community, her alma mater and her social fraternity. She serves on the board of Boys and Girls Harbor and the Houston Junior Forum. Most recently, Ms. Mays was elected to the City Council of Bunker Hill Village.

She is a director of Boys & Girls Harbor, the Houston Junior Forum and the Advisory Board of the School of Human Ecology at the University of Texas’ College of Natural Science. Cooky has worked The Theta Charity Antiques Show, Healthy Family Initiatives, and Main Street Ministries.
